February 6, 2010 SYDNEY —  The anti-whaling ship the Bob Barker and a Japanese harpoon boat collided in the icy waters off Antarctica on Saturday — the second major clash this year in the increasingly aggressive confrontations between the two sides.
No one was reportedly injured in the latest strike. The U.S.-based activist group Sea Shepherd, which sends vessels to confront the Japanese fleet each year, said a small hole was torn in the hull of its ship, but it was above the water line and the vessel was not in danger of sinking.

Editor’s Note:   Which side are you on?  The whaling ship’s or the Anit-Whaling ship’s?  Please leave comments.

XB-70 Valkyrie Experimental model by North American Aircraft.

Designed in the 1950s, two protypes of the Valkyrie were built by North American Aircraft and flew test flights in the 60s. The Valkyrie was a bomber with speeds of up to Mach 3 and was used for testing compression lift. Eventually, its plans developed into those of the A-12 long range spy/reconaissance plane, better known as the SR-71 Blackbird.
