This past week a US Marine Cobra helicopter was making practice touch and go landings at this one of a kind high altitude airport(6,752 Ft.). It is believed that it was to learn how to make landings in the mountains in Afghanistan.  One local citizen was prompted to call the airport office twice complaining about the noise as the choppter went around the pattern. This type of angry citizen can be found at various airports around the U.S. and invariably calls to complain about noise. Some of us run outside to watch these amazing helicopters do their thing. We watch with pride as they fly around the pattern learning how to save the lives of our marines and soldiers on the ground as they fight against the Taliban. We feel patriotic to see these powerful choppers flying over and making careful landings. However, you will find a handful of selfish folks who can only think of themselves instead of the safety of our military men and women fighting to keep us free.
